The Vaspian AI Connector lets you securely connect your Vaspian phone system to Claude (and other AI assistants that support custom connectors / MCP). Once connected, you can place calls, control live calls, check who's on the phone, and look up how your phone system is configured — just by asking in plain language.

What it is

The connector is built on MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard AI assistants use to securely connect to outside systems. You add one URL to your AI assistant, sign in once with your normal Vaspian phone credentials, and the assistant gains a set of phone-system tools it can use on your behalf.

Everything runs through your standard Vaspian login — your phone number, extension, and PIN — and the assistant can only ever do what you could already do from your own phone.

What it can do

The tools available depend on your account. Everyone gets the personal tools below. Tenant administrators also get visibility into how the phone system is configured, plus the ability to manage the company's call-block list and reset user PINs.

Everyday tools (all users)

What you can ask What happens
"Call 716-555-1212" / "Dial extension 200" Click-to-dial: your phone rings first, then it connects the other party. The outside-line prefix is added automatically.
"Put me on hold" / "Hang up" / "Transfer this call" Controls your live call (hold, resume, transfer, park, hang up, answer). It automatically targets your active call.
"Am I on a call?" / "What's my status?" Shows your current presence — on a call, available, or in Do Not Disturb.
"Turn on Do Not Disturb" / "Forward my calls to my cell" / "Twin my desk phone to my mobile" Updates your personal settings: Do Not Disturb, call forwarding, and twinning.
"Who am I signed in as?" Confirms your extension and tenant.

Administrator tools (Tenant Admins only)

Most of these are read-only — they let you see how the phone system is configured. The exceptions are call blocking and PIN reset (below), which let a Tenant Admin make changes.

What you can ask What happens
"Who is on the phone right now?" Tenant-wide live presence — everyone currently on a call or in Do Not Disturb, by name.
"What's Jane's extension?" / "Look up the directory" Lists tenant users and extensions; looks up a specific user.
"Who is in the Sales call group?" Shows hunt / ring / pickup groups and their members (by name).
"Where does 716-961-2120 route?" Full picture for a phone number: its open / closed / lunch destinations (resolved to names) plus the business-hours schedule that drives the routing.
"Show me the main auto attendant" / "What are our open hours?" Auto attendant menus, DID routing, business-hours and holiday-hours schedules.
"What/who is extension 744?" Identifies any extension — user, call group, auto attendant, ACD queue, or location.

Call blocking (Tenant Admins)

Tenant Admins can manage the company's call-blocking list — numbers that are screened out before they reach the company (they're routed through a block/screening extension that sends them to a dead end). This is the one administrator capability that makes a change rather than just viewing.
