This guide explains how to register a third-party SIP client — a softphone or desk phone — to the Vaspian platform. If you use the Vaspian One Phone app, you don't need this guide: that app is pre-configured for you.

You'll need the following details for the extension you want to register. If you don't have them, contact Vaspian support — for security they aren't shown in the Vaspian One Portal.
| What you need | Description |
|---|---|
| Extension | Your extension number, e.g. 188 |
| SIP PIN | The numeric password for the extension — this is not your portal login password |
| SIP domain | Your account's SIP domain, provided by Vaspian (format site.tenant, e.g. main.acme) |
Enter these values in your SIP client. Field names vary by app, so the last column lists the labels you're likely to see.

Register using your SIP domain, not an IP address. sip-registrar.vaspian.com only accepts registrations that carry your account's SIP domain. Older configurations that register to a numeric IP address are not supported on this registrar.

Once configured, your client should show a Registered, Ready, or green-dot status. To confirm end to end:
If audio is missing in one or both directions, it's almost always a firewall/NAT issue on your network — see below.
